WEEK 1 POWER RANKINGS

Week one was a treat for fans of CAFFL football plenty of big plays, great moments, and ultimately huge upsets. Now the staff here wants to make something clear when it comes to our power rankings just because a team didn't perform to their standard does not mean they are one of the worst teams in the league, we're looking at you Mustangs so with that out of the way lets get it on!

1. Hot Springs Vipers
Lets just face it they had the most impressive performance on Sunday, the Mustangs looked completely out matched and confused at times against the Vipers offensive and defensive approach to the game. The Quarterback play was very good and they really only had one bad play on offense. The Vipers will now turn their attention to the number 2 team on this list this Sunday.

2. Hot Springs Elite
The Elite were absolutely brilliant on Sunday they forced the Bandits to turn the ball over and never really get comfortable on the offensive end. The Elite also had a very balanced offensive attack and at times looked like they could score at will. This Sunday we will get a matchup against our top two teams post week one for a shot at the top spot in the Week 2 Power Rankings.

3. Arkansas Mustangs
This is a new position for the Mustangs being that they were the number one team wire to wire in our Power Rankings last season. The Mustangs maybe came into Week 1 a little too over confident but I don't see that happening again, they will match up against the Admirals on Sunday.

4. Spa City Bandits
Last seasons league runner up starts our Power Rankings ranked fourth coming off of a double digit loss against the Elite. Bandits at times looked out matched against the Elite especially in the second half, it will be interesting to see if the Bandits can clean up the sloppy play that lead to their loss in their Week 2 game against the Sentinels.

5. Rocktown Admirals
The Admirals shocked not just the CAFFL world but the flag football world on Sunday with a big upset win against the Sentinels. What the Admirals don't have in certain aspects of the game they make up for it with their approach and their three quarterback system. They will now get to test their luck on Sunday against the defending champion Mustangs.

6. Central Sentinels
The Sentinels are a very strange team to read at times they made it look easy on Sunday and then they would do something that would make you scratch your head until you felt your scalp start to bleed. The defense had problems all day long on finishing plays and they made some foolish decisions on two point conversions and not choosing to punt when maybe they should have. The Sentinels will look to rebound against the Bandits on Sunday.
