Mustangs Continue to Look Strong, Bandits Debut Ends in a Crazy Finish

As we conclude Week 2 of the 2021 CAFFL season we are still left with many questions, however one of them that was answered was the Mustangs clearly being the number one team in this league. They showed out on Sunday on their way to a 50-36 win against the Elite. It seemed like everyone got involved for the Mustangs, Jackson Davis threw for a CAFFL record 7 touchdowns, 5 of those touchdown passes went to Hayden Gray which is also a new CAFFL record. Arin Natzke came back down to Earth after his unbelievable showing last weekend against the Vipers but he did have a strong showing on defense. The Mustangs intercepted two Elite passes, Deonte Johnson and Austyn Harvey each got an interception. The Mustangs hope to continue their dominance this Sunday versus the Bandits, while the Elite look to get back on track against the Vipers. The second game featured the injury ridden Vipers taking on the newly formed Bandits, this game was one the craziest of the season so far. The Bandits were down late in the game when they recovered a miracle onside kick they would go on to win the game 31-30. The Vipers still looking for their replacement at quarterback after Dalton Norwood's injury inserted his brother Jesse Norwood into the starting spot. Norwood didn't have a terrible showing but he completed just 50% of his passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Wesley Sutter caught 3 touchdowns. For the Bandits Nate Gay one of the founding members for the Bandits caught a deep pass for a touchdown. The Bandits will have to continue their momentum from this win into Week 3 if they want to have any chance against the leagues top team, the Mustangs. The Vipers acquired Adrian Morris through a trade with the Mustangs, he makes his debut against the Elite on Sunday.
