Mustangs are moving on up

On Sunday two of the CAFFL's top teams faced off in an all out war on the gridiron. The Mustangs and the Vipers both battling for league supremacy competed on the beautiful Allen Tillery Field at Fountain Lake Stadium. The game had all the makings to be a classic contest until the key player for the Vipers Dalton Norwood was injured on a diving defensive play. The Vipers clearly weren't ready to lose Norwood as he was the heart and soul of their team. The Mustangs would go on to take full advantage of the Vipers injury woes and we would also see a new star potentially emerge in the CAFFL. Arin Natzke long seen as an after thought to the Mustangs and simply known as Captain D.J. Hayes' boy made two outstanding plays. Starting with a simple five yard reception that he would turn into a 30 yard touchdown and a pick six where his instincts paid off as he read the Viper quarterbacks eyes would carry the Mustangs to a 44-24 win. Mustang quarterback Jackson Davis looked calm and composed throwing for four touchdowns while Shelton Smith, Quinton Edmond, and Austyn Harvey all had touchdown receptions along with Natzke. After the win the Mustangs look to be the front runner to bring home the first annual CAFFL Championship.
