Mid-Season Award Watchlist

Our staff usually puts out our Power Rankings this time of week, however since we do not have any change in our standings we decided to take a look at some of the best individual players in the Central Arkansas Flag Football League. We will look at 4 different awards (MVP, DPOY, ROTY, and Best Captain), obviously this list can and probably will look vastly different so let us begin.

MVP

1. Nash Teague: Teague has been so consistent through Non-Conference play and has utilized his weapons to make the Elite the lone undefeated team in this ultra competitive league.

2. Adrian Morris: What can you say about Morris he loves making big plays and when you watch his tape his deep passing ability really stands out.

3. Brack Teague: Nash's brother Brack has been absolutely fantastic as the number one option for the Elite, he has made some fantastic catches and should be seen as the best Wideout through Non-Conference play.

4. Hayden Gray: While not quite putting up the same numbers as last year, Gray is doing it on both ends of the field and should be on this list at the end of the season.

5. Ramar Easter: Mr. Easter has been absolutely stellar as the Vipers number one weapon, and give the Vipers credit they have utilized him to absolute perfection.

6. Jackson Davis: Again not putting up the monster numbers he had last year but the defending MVP is still just being that steady presence on the field and leading the Mustangs to a 2-1 record heading into conference play.

7. Jacob Nichols: Nichols has been terrific carrying the rock for the Bandits, he's also been very productive on kickoff return duty this season.

DPOY

1. DJ Hayes: The Captain of the Mustangs is just so consistent on the defensive side of the ball making sure guys are in the right place, he always seems to make clutch tackles for his squad.

2. Dalton Norwood: Norwood has been excellent him and his brother Jesse do a great job of shutting down their guys in coverage and really do a terrific job of making the Vipers one of the leagues very best defenses.

3. John Buss: Terrific athlete who can rush the quarterback and get to him at will, he had a scoop and score against the Admirals in Week 3.

4. Hayden Gray: This man can go can both ways on the field at an elite level, another great tackler and he also posses great instincts with the ball in the air as he had a 3 interception day against the Admirals.

5. Jesse Norwood: Jesse like his brother Dalton has been a standout on the Viper defense being a sure tackler and he's also been solid in coverage.

ROTY

1. John Buss: Buss has been unleashed onto the league by the Elite and he has shown out running the football and rushing the passer.

2. Payton Hayes: Hayes has been a terrific target in the Admirals offense and has really shown out this season after being the number one pic in the First Annual CAFFL Draft.

3. Donell West: West sometimes gets lost in the shuffle with all the weapons on the Vipers offense but has been having a sneaky good rookie season.

4. JT McCoy: McCoy was brought in by his brother and Bandit Team Captain Shawn and his immediately carved out a role on the team.

5. Jared Williams: Jared P.W. Williams has been a favorite target of Scott Kemp's and Williams has even been high in the list of the league's leading wideouts.

Captain of the Year

1. Easton Thomas: The Elite did not live up to their name last season but give Easton Thomas credit for assembling a true championship contender and as the only team left without a loss Thomas deserves to be at the top of this list.

2. Adrian Morris: Morris has been great at cleaning up the Vipers image after having a few less than stellar moments last season, the offense is one of the most explosive in this league.

3. DJ Hayes: Give D-Mac credit he kept pretty much all of the major contributors from last years championship team and who is to say they can't win it again.
